We're so excited to be hosting our wedding in Saugatuck! It's a beautiful, welcoming beach town that perfectly encapsulates summer on Lake Michigan. Here are some tips for everyone traveling in to celebrate with us.
Flights
Gerald R. Ford International Airport in Grand Rapids is the closest airport. It is about a 40 minute drive from our wedding venue. Chicago and Detroit airports are both a 2.5 hour drive.
Hotels
We've booked blocks at Home2Suites by Hilton and Tru by Hilton, both in Holland, MI. Click the links to book with our code! These hotels are both a 20 minute drive from our venue. Check in is Saturday 08.08.26 and check out is Monday 08.10.26.
If you'd prefer to stay closer to our venue in Saugatuck, we highly recommend booking a vacation rental or local hotel. Here are some places we recommend. Just make sure to plan accordingly, lodging in the summer fills up fast.
Things to Do
Grab breakfast at Pennyroyal Cafe next door to our venue. We were getting pastries here when we first spotted our venue a year before getting engaged!
Ride the Saugatuck Chain Ferry — the only remaining chain driven ferry in the country!
Explore the shops & art galleries in downtown Saugatuck.
Take a hike and/or hit the beach at Saugatuck Dunes State Park. If you're feeling adventurous you can even book a dune ride.
Virtue Cider is our favorite place to stop for hard cider & apps in SW Michigan.
Have dinner at The Southerner along the Kalamazoo River.
Head to Kilwins for dessert, one of Michigan's most famous ice cream & fudge shops.
